Infertility can be caused by the male and female factors. There are a number of reasons for causing infertility in men. Some reasons are due to physical problems and some are due to mental problems like stress. These problems prevent them from being ejaculated normally in semen, affect the quality and sperm production issues.

Infections and sexually transmitted diseases

Infections in the genital organs like Chlamydia and gonorrhea causes infertility. The infertility caused by the infection in men can be often treated with medication.

Blockages, physical damage or birth defects

In rare cases, the immune system can treat sperm viruses as the foreign virus and damages them. This could a cause for the infertility in men.

Hormonal problems

Hormonal imbalance in the pituitary and thyroid glands causes infertility. There are treatments and medications for this problem.

Sexual problems

Erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation have an impact on the male fertility. Erectile dysfunction may be caused due to psychological problems such as anxiety, guilt or low self esteem. Diabetes, high cholesterol, high bold pressure and heart diseases are the physical problems for this.
